Classical/Review Richard Green - Wrinkles

Richard Green is an Italian musician, guitarist, and composer based in London since 2012. He moved to London, where he obtained a higher diploma as a guitarist and a musician degree. His first track released is Dark Horses (December 2020), a very experimental composition with a distinct dark sound. After a few months (August 2021), he released his first EP, Color and Sound, a collection of six very different and original tunes.

The new song from Richard Green, "Wrinkles," is a moving meditation on the significance of a life well-lived and the inevitable nature of aging. The song explores the last stages of our life, as the title implies, and uses wrinkles as a metaphor for aging and the exhaustion that goes along with it. But Green welcomes aging as a normal conclusion of a life full of experience, passion, and fulfillment rather than depicting it as something to be feared.

"Wrinkles" is a contemplative anthem about life's journey rather than merely a song about growing older. Green's insightful words serve as a soothing reminder that, despite growing older and being exhausted, what counts most is how we live. He exhorts his audience to enter the latter phase of life with profound happiness from pursuing their goals and aspirations rather than regret or sadness.

"Wrinkles" has a subtle yet very touching melody. The topic of meditation is ideally complemented by the music, which has subdued, gloomy overtones that provide the impression of a calm discussion with an old acquaintance.

Richard Green has created a work that speaks to everyone, giving comfort and motivation to those who are thinking about time passing. "Wrinkles" is a reminder that, although being an unavoidable part of life, growing older can be a lovely and fulfilling process—that is, if we approach it with meaning and purpose.
