Rock/Review West Wickhams - Vivre Sa Vie

West Wickhams are Jon Othello and Elle Flores, a psyschedelique Garage Noir Deux peace, originally from Tresco on the Isles of Scilly. Tresco is famously the island of lost souls and is home to subtropical plants and shipwrecked figureheads. They recently relocated to Richmond, Surrey, where the creatures rule. West Wickhams are an imagined rival gang to punk-style icons the Bromley Contingent.

The EP "Vivre Sa Vie" by West Wickhams unfolds as an ethereal journey, akin to the delicate union of a water drop on a leaf. With each track, the West Wickhams craft a miniature universe, reflecting the infinite wonders of musical expression. This collection stands as a testament to the interconnectedness of artistic elements, much like the delicate interplay between a water drop and a leaf in nature.

The EP opens with a sense of wonder, akin to the first moments of witnessing a water drop glistening on a leaf. The musical arrangements are intricate and textured, painting a sonic masterpiece that mirrors the symphony of color and light found in nature. Each track becomes a unique brushstroke, contributing to the overall tapestry of the EP.

The thematic core of "Vivre Sa Vie" is reminiscent of the interconnectedness of all living things. Much like the delicate ecosystem of a water drop on a leaf, the EP explores the harmonious interplay of musical elements. The West Wickhams skillfully weave together melodies, harmonies, and rhythms to create a cohesive and immersive sonic experience.

The choice of title, "Vivre Sa Vie," adds a layer of depth to the EP. Translated as "Living Life," is a contemplative exploration of existence and the artistic journey. Each track becomes a reflection of living life through the lens of music, capturing the essence of moments and emotions in a way that resonates with the listener.

The universality of this EP is one of its strengths. In a manner similar to the droplet of water on a leaf, the music becomes an allegory for our shared humanity. West Wickhams invite the listener to join in the wonder and mystery of their sonic landscape, giving space for thought and communion.

In conclusion, "Vivre Sa Vie" by West Wickhams is an ethereal and contemplative EP that captures the essence of nature's symphony.
