Classical/Review Richard Green - Your Angel

Richard Green is an Italian musician, guitarist, and composer based in London since 2012. He moved to London, where he obtained a higher diploma as a guitarist and a musician degree. His first track released is Dark Horses (December 2020), a very experimental composition with a distinct dark sound. After a few months (August 2021), he released his first EP, Color and Sound, a collection of six very different and original tunes.

As part of a musically complex and emotionally gripping trilogy, Richard Green's "Your Angel" is a hauntingly beautiful track from the EP "The Circle Closes." In this concept series, "Your Angel" is a moving penultimate chapter that comes after the release of the first EP, "A Journey," and precedes the upcoming final installment for later this year. A profoundly moving examination of life's last phases and the ethereal transition that ensues, the composition by Richard Green features Irene Veneziano on piano and the Archimia strings quartet.

"Your Angel," the EP's saddest track, explores the dark theme of coming to the end of one's journey and changing into a guardian for those left behind. The title alone evokes a poignant and melancholic transition into becoming an angelic presence. Masterful sound design by Green creates a subtle yet profoundly emotional tapestry of sound that captures the emotional gravity of this particular moment.

With her sensitive and forceful piano playing, Irene Veneziano's collaboration adds a layer of expressive depth that perfectly captures the spirit of transcendence and farewell. With their expressive string arrangements, the Archimia strings quartet further enhances the track and evokes a rich, melancholic mood that strikes a chord with the listener.

The moving story "Your Angel" encourages contemplation and introspection; it's more than just a piece of music. Green's skill at expressing nuanced emotions in his compositions is demonstrated by the deft interplay between the piano and strings. One of the standout songs from "The Circle Closes," the track is hauntingly beautiful because of its simplicity and capacity to touch the soul.

In summary, Richard Green's "Your Angel" is a profoundly moving and masterfully composed song that poignantly builds to the finale of his musical trilogy. It captures the essence of love, grief, and the immortality of the human spirit, making a profound impression on everyone who hears it. This track guarantees that the journey through "The Circle Closes" will be one that is remembered thanks to its exquisite arrangement and profound emotional content.
