Electronic/Review Broken Composers - Solid Revolver

Broken Composers is a duo of interdisciplinary artists, Kirill Rave and Vitali Yu. Launched at the 2017 Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, they are engaged in experimental art, music, multimedia installations, and stage performances. The radical aesthetic language they have developed aims to distort perception, breaking both themselves and their viewers out of the everyday paradigm and routine and immersing everyone in an unfamiliar world where the usual system of coordinates does not work.

Broken Composers' "Solid Revolver" is a bold and avant-garde combination of music, light, costumed actors, and architecture that subverts audience perception through a multimedia experience. In this cutting-edge experiment, a revolving cloud of light envelops the observer, placing them in the center of a 20-meter cylinder. It's a fascinating experience, like being a particle inside a magnet trap collider, where the crowd dynamics produce a constantly changing, throbbing atmosphere.

Broken Composers has created a bewildering and intriguing audio universe with abstract sounds that perfectly match the piece's visual and theatrical aspects. Intricately blending experimental rhythms and tones, the music itself gives off the impression of being a part of a more mysterious, expansive process. The sound design encourages reflection and makes listeners consider how they fit into the overall performance experience.

"Solid Revolver" stands out because to its transdisciplinary methodology. Broken Composers pushes the limits of conventional performance art by fusing several artistic expressions. This fusion of media not only strengthens the work's conceptual foundations but also amplifies its sensory effect. The show poses important concerns concerning individualism vs collectivism, making each viewer choose between maintaining their identity and becoming part of the crowd's collective pulse.

"Solid Revolver" is essentially an immersive experience that transforms our relationship with art rather than just a performance. It is a thought-provoking and remarkable event that forces the audience to reconsider how they engage with the artistic setting and with one another. With this piece, Broken Composers have really excelled themselves and raised the bar for performance and multidisciplinary art.
