Interview/Afro House Karmatronic - I Can't Say Goodbye

Hello Karmatronic. Congratulations on the success of 'I Can't Say Goodbye.' What inspired you to create this track in the Afro House style?

The inspiration came after moving permanently to Hong Kong. I have already lived in many different countries in my life, and I realized that I can never say goodbye to people definitively, and I wanted to put all this and my feelings into a song. Afro house and organic house are very close to my soul.

Can you tell us more about the production process behind the track, especially the use of analog recordings for the Afro drums in your new studio in Hong Kong?

I never would have thought, but here in Hong Kong I have met many excellent musicians of all kinds, and there is a boy from Africa who teaches how to play African drums. Coincidentally, he doesn't live far from me, so we met several times at my house in the studio and recorded a couple of times with my UAD Apollo X4 sound card and with condenser microphones (using the LUNA daw). Then afterwards, as always, with the FX plugins of the UAD and other plugins, I modified the sound and dynamics to make them more appropriate to the track. I honestly love recording for myself, and it's always the most beautiful and fascinating part of creating a song.

How do you feel about the track's rapid growth on Spotify, with over 20 thousand plays in just two days? What do you attribute this early success to?

I am lucky for my previous professional jobs. for my Instagram and Facebook, where my followers follow me, and thanks to their sharing. plus an absolute thank you to my dear friends who support me and already help me to make it play in different clubs around the world.

The track is described as perfect for both beach sunset parties and club environments. How did you strike that balance, and what's the secret to making such versatile music?

I don't want to create hit radio songs, but only something that I can integrate into my DJ sets of 120 and 122 bpm that I record and then publish on YouTube. Being spiritual is very important in my life, which is why I tried to reflect my soul feelings as much as possible in the tracks. I just feel lucky that this balancing happened.

Have you received any feedback from fans or fellow DJs that particularly resonated with you about 'I Can't Say Goodbye'?

Yes, and this makes me much happier! For a music producer, the thing that makes us happiest or most grateful is if other DJs and producers criticize you positively for your creation, mixing, mastering, sound design, etc. Sincerely, I would never have expected the many positive messages and congratulations from my colleagues.

Can you share any memorable moments or experiences related to the track's performance at events or parties?

My memorable experience of this song came from those nights when I tried to balance the mixing mastering by listening to it again on the control monitors of my studio from my mobile phone and on the computer.... :D a nightmare...

How do you envision the track fitting into a DJ set or playlist, and how would you recommend other DJs integrate it into their mixes?

Every DJ has his own style for choosing music, and I would never allow myself to recommend it. I hear it, I like it, and then the audience will react. I only hope that this track can be music that spiritually raises the positive vibrations of people around the world.

Do you have any plans for future releases or collaborations that are influenced by the success of 'I Can't Say Goodbye'?

Obviously for any collaboration.

What do you think sets 'I Can't Say Goodbye' apart from other Afro House tracks in the industry?

Afro house is a very broad definition, I think. I hear it between organic house and afro house styles, but each song stands out from the other. The thing that pleases me is that I can't say goodbye, and it's very easy to integrate into any DJ mix.

What's next for Karmatronic, and what can fans expect in terms of your musical journey and upcoming projects?

I have been away from big festivals and clubs for a long time. For a long period, I was doing consultancy and ghost production for other DJs. But from New Year 2024 on, I will make a big return to the world of nightlife as a DJ.

I will also try to publish at least one new track each month, and I also have collaborations with other DJs.

China is giving me new vitality and spiritual energy. I hope that from now on I will be able to create many more things that will be close to my soul and, hopefully, have more shows in Asia, including China.
