Since emerging in 2016, Monotronic has maintained its status as a ponderous and provocative enigma. Conceived by guitarist/producer Ramsey Elkholy, Monotronic started as a loose collective of NYC-based musicians. The rotating cast of musicians has shared the stage and recorded with the likes of Joe Jackson, Robert Randolph, Elliot Moss, The Spin Doctors, and Dweezil Zappa, to name a few. 

"Sun Song," the most recent single from Monotronic, gives fans a tantalizing taste of their next album Waiting For You, which is scheduled for release in early 2025. The song immediately grabs the listener's attention with its catchy combination of rock sensibility and melodic reflection.

The song's lead guitarist, Elkholy, describes how the basic guitar riff—which was influenced by Nirvana's "All Apologies"—was played haphazardly for months until it took on a distinctively Monotronic quality. The song's direction and structure were given when the lines, "I don't want to lose a minute of sleep, lying in bed and wondering what could have been," appeared out of nowhere one morning.
